In Numbers 33:51-56, God commanded the Israelites to completely dispossess the Canaanites of their land after crossing over the Jordan. God had given it to them as a possession on the condition that they would drive the Canaanites out. God warned them that they would be a thorn in their side if they didn’t drive them out. This is an object lesson for sin. God calls us to have complete victory over sin in our lives and He also empowers us to live victorious lives. When we compromise with sin, our relationship with God suffers and it causes us numerous hardships.
