Russia banned the Jehovah’s Witnesses after the Supreme Court ruled that they are “extremists”. Some rejoice over this fact, pointing out that the Jehovah’s Witnesses have some bizarre religious beliefs and are identified by some Christian churches as a cult. However, banning Russia is just one step closer to banning other religious minorities in Russia. Being a Seventh-day Adventist, I wonder how long it will be before my own religion is banned in Russia.

This is a major set-back for religious liberty in Russia and most of the civilized world is appalled.
